Aware Laundry Powders
Aware Eco Choice and Aware Sensitive Aware laundry powders are formulated to have minimal environmental impact.
The surfactants in Aware are readily biodegradable and break down rapidly into harmless substances. Aware has no phosphates added. Phosphorus chemicals in conventional detergents feed blue-green algae and lead to algal blooms. This contributes to the build up of weeds and algal slime in our waterways. These choke other precious aquatic life forms by using up the available oxygen.
Aware laundry powders are made with plant oil based surfactants instead of petroleum oil derived surfactants. Petrochemicals are slow to biodegrade and can cause allergic reactions. These plant based detergents break down quickly into harmless substances and are made from a renewable resource.
Aware laundry powder has been tested and produces ‘garden safe’ greywater. The average household creates between 200 and 800 litres of greywater from washing clothes every week.
